A popular taxi app is set to introduce a €5 cancellation fee for customers.
As part of an update to terms and conditions, MyTaxi told customers they may be charged if they cancel after a driver accepts the job.
A statement emailed to customers said: "We’re introducing a €5 passenger cancellation fee.
"You can cancel your trip at any time, but you may be charged a fee in certain cases where a driver already accepted your request, for example where you cancel two minutes or more after a driver accepts your request and is on route to pick you up."
And users who are not at the pick-up address within five minutes of a driver's arrival will also have to pay the €5 fee if the driver subsequently cancels the job.

Cash-only users will be barred from the app after two cancellations if they fail to pay up.
But new customers who have never used MyTaxi before will be given a grace period and are allowed three cancellations before they incur a fee.
The changes will come into effect on May 23, 2019.
Mytaxi are also bringing in a number of other changes including a journey-sharing service currently only available in Limerick.
