Popular Bristol pub to close for a week after covid scare

A Bristol pub has been forced to close after staff members came into contact with people isolating for Covid-19.

The Albion in Clifton, Bristol, announced the news on Facebook after the NHS Track and Trace app revealed staff members came into contact with people in isolation.

As a precautionary step, the pub has taken the decision to close until Friday, June 25.

The Albion in Boyces Avenue, Clifton Village, serves award-winning food alongside drinks.

Co-owner Martin Lowe said in Facebook post yesterday: "Unfortunately I have made the difficult decision to close the Albion until Friday, June 25.

"This is following a number of our team having been in contact with people who are now isolating under NHS Track and Trace.

"Although this may seem overly cautious, the safety of our team and guests is paramount to us."

They added: "We very much look forward to welcoming you back on Friday, June 25 at midday when we will be able to provide the standard of service that you would expect from us.
