Popular Bold Street restaurant The Little Shoe to open a cafe in St George's Hall

After a successful rebrand on Bold Street from East Avenue Bakehouse to The Little Shoe , owners of the much-loved cafe have announced the opening of a second site at St George’s Hall.

Independent business, East Avenue Bakehouse had been serving customers on Bold Street for five years, but just weeks ago it decided to relaunch as The Little Shoe.

Now the next stage of development is to expand from one of Liverpool’s most iconic streets to one of the city’s most iconic buildings.

The Little Shoe will be open in what was formerly the basement Heritage Cafe, at St George’s Hall ,  from 10am to 4pm on Friday 12 April, then every day from 10am to 5pm (except for Sundays when the Heritage Centre of St George’s Hall is closed).

The cafe will serve coffee and tea, as well as cakes and light bite options, or lunch and afternoon tea.

The Little Shoe will also serve alcoholic drinks.

Paul Durand, head chef and co-owner said: "We jumped at the chance to bring a local independent business into a building which is not only a major attraction in Liverpool, but also the emotional heart of the city."

Alan Smith, general manager of St George’s Hall, said: "We are simply thrilled to be welcoming The Little Shoe to St George’s Hall.

"Both residents and visitors of the city know that Liverpool has an independent food scene which has boomed in recent years and is continuously developing, and the team at The Little Shoe have been at the forefront of that with their eatery in Bold Street.

Two Liverpool cafés named the best in the country

"For a world-renowned neoclassical building of St George’s Hall’s stature, there was a desire to breathe new life into our food and drink offering.

"We have an impressive history which wows visitors – now we have a premier food service to match."
