Popular Black Rooster opens its doors to first Ayrshire store

Ayrshire's first Black Rooster restaurant has opened its doors.

The peri peri chicken diner has set up shop at the Rivergate Shopping Centre in Irvine and it opened to the public yesterday.

We revealed last month that the popular chain was getting set to open in both Irvine and Kilmarnock.

Speaking to Ayrshire Live, Black Rooster owner Michael Kennedy – who also manages West of Scotland League Premier Division side Darvel – said: "We have got one coming in Kilmarnock and hopefully a couple more coming to Ayrshire too.

"It's exciting times and it will be good to see how it goes.

"Ayrshire has been a second home to me in the last couple of years so I am looking forward to this."
