A popular cultural venue in Belfast city centre will be closed from today until mid-November.
2 Royal Avenue will close on Friday, September 30, as Belfast City Council confirmed “internal improvement works” will be taking place.
The listed property was previously the home of a Tesco store, but became a cultural hub after being bought by Belfast City Council last October.

Since then, the central venue has hosted a number of events including gigs and art exhibitions, and the building also houses a café as well as bespoke artworks.
Improvement works being carried out on the building include making the building more accessible and revamping the on-site café.
Announcing the news on social media on Thursday evening, the Council said: “Our 2 Royal Avenue venue will close tomorrow for internal improvement works.
“Look out for a revamped café with a wider selection of food & drinks when its reopens in mid-November.
“We're also enhancing the popular space to make it more accessible & comfortable for visitors.”
