A bakery chain has toasted the opening of its latest city centre location.
Bayne’s the Family Bakers launched its newest shop on Gordon Street in Glasgow on June 16, marking its eighth store in the city and part of a wider expansion strategy targeting high-footfall locations.
Eighteen new jobs have been created as a result of the opening.
John Bayne, joint managing director, said: "Glasgow continues to play an important role in our journey.
"The support we’ve received from communities across the city has been fantastic.
"Our newest location is all about meeting demand.
"Positioned just across from Glasgow Central Station, our Gordon Street shop offers commuters a convenient option for a hearty breakfast or post-work treat, whilst also providing fresh and traditionally baked options for those in the centre of town."
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to open three to four new locations annually and launch its first mobile app in 2025.
The bakery chain has also revealed plans to invest £11m in the business, with the aim of doubling its retail footprint.
The company says its latest shop has anchored the family business's presence in the city centre and continues to facilitate a path of sustained growth.
