Popular Ayrshire restaurant reopens almost a year after fire ripped through its premises

A popular Indian restaurant has reopened almost a year after a fire at its premises.

The Taj Bar and Kitchen in Prestwick Main Street has been refurbished after the blaze forced it to shut last November.

A fire broke out  above its restaurant.

Now the restaurant has undergone a revamp and it is open to customers.

A spokesman for the restaurant’s owners said: “We’ve added new features to the oldest Indian restaurant in the Prestwick area.

“These include a new wine and cocktail bar and a new menu which features breakfast served from 9am every day.

“Our customers are absolutely delighted with the new look Taj Bar & Kitchen and we are gratified by their positive response.”
