Popular Ayr restaurant 'voluntarily' closes after multiple staff members test positive for Covid

A popular Ayr restaurant has voluntarily closed after multiple members of staff tested positive for Covid.

The Tree House announced yesterday that their Sandgate venue would be closed for a "short period".

A "small number" of workers at the Buzzworks eaterie have contacted coronavirus and bosses are now working alongside Health Protection Scotland and the Scottish Test and Protect scheme.

A post on the Tree House's Facebook read: "We are so sorry to have to announce that following a small number of our team testing positive for Covid, we have taken the voluntary decision to close the restaurant and bar for a short period as a precautionary measure.

"The safety of our people and customers is our top priority and we are working closely with Health Protection Scotland and the Scottish Test and Protect scheme.

"If you have a booking in the next few days, we will be in touch to rearrange. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope to welcome you back soon."
