Popular Arnold pub issues 'sad' Covid warning to customers

A popular Arnold pub has urged its customers to stay cautious after its landlord tested positive for covid.

Staff at The Robin Hood and Little John Pub, located in Church Street, said landlord David Pears was "devastated" after finding out he caught the virus.

In a statement issued on its Facebook page, the pub said that Mr Pears had seen "a lot of people" over the Christmas period and that he "wanted to let regulars know so they can be cautious".

However, it assured customers the rest of the staff had been testing daily.

The post reads: "Sadly our fabulous landlord has tested positive for the dreaded 'rona, he's a bit tired and achy and more an angry bear than a poorly bear.

"He's in quarantine until the New Year and sending instructions from his chamber to those team members left to man the fort.

"He's missing his baby boys and devastated to miss his favourite trading period, the Robin IS Christmas!"

It adds: "We're so sorry our staff losses are impacting on our opening hours this week but anyone who knows our jolly giant knows the Robin team and customers come first so adjusting our hours and events is done so with a heavy heart but an overwhelming amount of thought and care for customer service/experience and staff well-being."

The pub was recently named the winner of Nottingham CAMRA's LocAle competition, which celebrates locally brewed beers and ciders.
