Organisers of the popular annual Glasgow Taxi Drivers' outing to Troon have today been forced to pull the plug on this year's event.
The event sees a host of Glasgow-based taxi drivers deck their vehicles out in balloons and take needy children and their parents for an unforgettable day out by the sea.
But organisers say that, with so much uncertainty as to when the country will leave lockdown, they had no choice but to cancel the event, scheduled for Wednesday, June 16.
It's the second time in a year organisers have been left with the heart breaking decision.
Like every other major event last year, the 2020 trip was cancelled as the country was gripped by the coronavirus pandemic.
The event has been running since 1945 when the first fleet of taxis trundled down from the city, along the A77, to give less-fortunate kids a great day out.

Treasurer Stephen Lalley of the Glasgow Taxi Outing Fund said: "Unfortunately we have had to make the decision to postpone the 75th outing to Troon until 2022.
"It is now scheduled to be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
"We had reached the point in this year's planning process that requires the booking of equipment and venues etc, as well as enlisting the help of behind the scenes volunteers and the many people who fundraise all year to make the outing possible.
"We are ever grateful to them.

"With the unknown virus situation ahead of us, while this is not a decision we wanted to make, it's the right decision.
"Obviously everyone's health and wellbeing is at the forefront of our thoughts, particularly the children and their families.
"No doubt lots of drivers will be disappointed too as they look forward to the outing each year just as much as the children and I thank them again for their continued support.
"We will be doing something to mark this year's postponed date – Wednesday, June 16, 2021 – and that will be announced soon."
He added: "One day – with a lifetime of memories. Stay safe and healthy."
Although last year's event was cancelled, organisers instead staged a “Lockdown To Troon” party online.
