Popular 90s snack Dunkaroos are coming back for summer 2020

Back by popular demand this summer — Dunkaroos! | General Mills

A classic snack for many kids who grew up during the ‘90s is coming back.

Dunkaroos, a treat featuring a combination of cookies and icing, will return to store shelves starting this summer, General Mills revealed.

The snack will be available in one flavor: vanilla cookies and vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles.

Packages of Dunkaroos feature cookies with a separate space for icing so you could easily dip.

”For those who grew up in the ‘90s, the original cookie-frosting combo represents the taste, color and fun of being a kid during that decade,” said Jeff Caswell, president of snacks at General Mills, in a statement.

General Mills revealed the return of Dunkaroos with a tweet and ‘90s-inspired video. “Definitely coming back. Summer 2020,” said the tweet.

The announcement delighted fans of the popular snack, who flocked to Twitter to express their excitement.

Dunkaroos were first introduced in 1992, available with several different flavors of icing, including cinnamon and chocolate chip.

It’s not the only classic making a comeback. Younger generations have started embracing vintage staples such as vinyl record players and combat boots.
