Poplar killing: Victim named as Asma Begum as man is charged with murder

A woman killed at a property in east London has been named as 31-year-old Asma Begum.

Jalal Uddin, 46, of City Island Way, Poplar, has been charged with her murder.

He is set to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Police were called to an address in City Island Way on Friday afternoon.

Ms Begum was found with a neck injury and pronounced dead at the scene.

Uddin was arrested the following day and charged with murder on Sunday.
