Pope won't visit Glasgow for COP26, the Vatican confirms

Pope Francis will not travel to Glasgow for COP26 next month, the Vatican has confirmed.

It has been reported the 84-year-old would attend the climate change conference, however the Vatican says its delegation at the event will be led by its secretary of state Cardinal Parolin.

Had Pope Francis come to Glasgow, it would have been the first papal visit in Scotland since 2010.
