Pope Leo’s brother’s home swarmed by cops after bomb threat

  • Police in New Lenox, Illinois, responded to a bomb threat at the home of John Prevost, brother of Pope Leo XIV, Thursday night.
  • Following a search involving bomb-sniffing dogs and the evacuation of neighbors, authorities confirmed no explosives or hazardous devices were found, and there was no active threat.
  • The bomb threat came amidst an ongoing public disagreement between President Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV concerning the Catholic leader's criticisms of the war in Iran.
  • Trump has repeatedly expressed his disapproval of Pope Leo, incorrectly stating the Pope believes Iran should have nuclear weapons, and declared he was “not a fan” of the pontiff.
  • However, Trump has regularly praised the pope’s brother and mentioned him again Thursday, saying, “His brother’s Maga all the way. I like his brother, Louis. I'm not fighting with him.”
