Another poster, wondered if they might be seeing a new face run out on the hallowed turf of Celtic Park, said: "Latest signing perhaps?"

The Pontiff recently said fans shouldn't compare Lionel Messi to God.

The Barcelona star has earned the nickname 'D10S', a combination of his shirt number and the Spanish word for God (Dios) but the Pope said it was a 'sacrilege' to give the Argenintian maestro that title.

In an interview with  La Sexta , Francis praised his countryman, saying: 'He's great to watch - but he's not God.'
