A pop-up testing clinic will be held at Windale this weekend after a recent confirmed case and exposure site in the suburb.
Hunter New England Health announced the pop-up clinic will be held at The Purple House, at the corner of South and Lake streets on Saturday and Sunday.
The clinic will be open from 8am to 4pm and will be held as a "walk-up" service. All collections will be taken in the car park.
It comes after a unit complex in the suburb was plunged into lockdown earlier this week after a resident brought COVID-19 back from Blacktown.
The 32-unit James Street complex was placed into lockdown and other residents tested on Wednesday and Friday. The first results all came back negative.
Windale Takeaway was also declared a casual exposure site on Saturday from 5.35pm to 5.45pm.
State member for Charlestown Jodie Harrison and federal member for Shortland Pat Conroy have both called for a vaccination hub in Windale to lift vaccination rates in the suburb.
