Pop up cinema to show films in Derbyshire caves this summer

An unusual location for a pop up cinema has been revealed.

The Village Screen will be setting up in the Peak Cavern in Castleton later this summer - with some blockbuster films planned.

The showing of Bohemian Rhapsody has sadly already sold out, but there are still tickets for the other showings available, including Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Lost Boys.

At just over an hour away from Nottingham, it's perfect for a day out.

Hit blockbuster Bohemian Rhapsody, the biopic that celebrates Queen's musical legacy, will be one of the films showing at the Cave Cinema during the opening weekend (May 31 to June 2).

Starring Oscar-award-winner Rami Malek, the movie has become the highest-grossing biopic of all time, pulling in some $870 million worldwide, Manchester Evening News reports.

Line of Duty - the best moments so far

Tickets for the 2018 film have already sold out but fans can add their names to a waiting list should any tickets be returned.

Also showing inside the Cave Cinema will be cult classic horror comedy The Lost Boys, which tells the tale of two brothers to end up fighting a gang of vampires.

The first weekend will conclude with Steven Spielberg's smash hit dinosaur film Jurassic Park, which has since gone on to spawn several additional films starring Chris Pratt.

The original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, who are chosen to tour a remote island where dinosaurs have been brought back to life.

If you're scared of things that go bump in the night you may want to give the screening on June 7 a miss.

The Cave Cinema will be showing the gripping horror film The Descent, where a group of climbers are stalked through an underground cave system by terrifying creatures.

Batman Returns, the 1992 fantasy superhero film with Danny DeVito as the evil sewer-dwelling Penguin, will be shown on June 8,  Manchester Evening News reports .

Completing the summer series will be Raiders of the Lost Ark, a classic Indiana Jones tale also by blockbuster master Spielberg.

Live music and street food will greet guests on arrival, with drinks served from Village Screen bars inside and outside the caves.

There'll be popcorn and ice cream available too to take into the cave to watch each film as the sun sets.

Tickets for LEGOLAND Discovery Centre are half price and here's how to get them

VIP sofa packages will be available, which will include two blankets and a prime view.
