Pop star Pink loves adorable footage of Scots schoolkids singing her song

Pop superstar Pink has shared a Tweet from an East Kilbride music teacher showing his young pupils belting out one of her classic hits.

Former Duncanrig Secondary pupil Lee McDowall Tweeted a video of 70 primary five, six and sevens covering 'What About us' at an Easter performance at his school, Forehill Primary in South Ayrshire.

Pink - who has 32million followers -  then took to her own Twitter account heaping praise on the talented youngsters saying "This is so great!!!".

And her Tweet has already gleaned 685 likes and 66 Re-Tweets.

Lee, 33, who is originally from Gardenhall, told the East Kilbride News he had to do a double take when he saw his original Tweet had been shared by the music icon - just to make sure he wasn't seeing things.

"I looked at my Twitter account this morning and I saw I had loads of notifications then among the people who shared it I saw Pink. I couldn't believe it at first, but when I looked again, it was definitely her. I am astounded."

He went on: "This is so well and fully deserved by all of the pupils. They are so talented and hard working and a really fantastic bunch of kids. I couldn't be prouder or more pleased for them.

"We have such great support for expressive arts at the school from all the staff and parents and which is not always the case in this day and age and we are really lucky.

"It's been a really busy time for the kids with choir and orchestra commitments and we performed this at a festival in June and decided the rest of the school should be able to hear it to so performed it at out Easter service.

"A lot of the kids really love Pink so that's why the song was chosen - and they will be absolutely over the moon when they see this. I have had a few messages from staff and parents already but I am sure I will get more! It's not every day your school gets the approval of Pink herself."

Lee Tweeted: "This is why I do my job. Amazing things are achieved when everyone bands together (pun intended), not to mention an eagerness and passion to learn from amazing pupils."
