Colombian singer Shakira says she was the victim of a wild boar attack while she was in a park with her son in Barcelona.
The 44-year-old claims the animals 'attacked and robbed' her as they stole her bag, taking it into the woods.
Speaking in Spanish the singer shared a video of the torn and muddied bag on her Instagram account as she explains what happened.
“Look at how two wild boar which attacked me in the park have left my bag," she says.
“They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it. They’ve destroyed everything.”
She then adds as her son, who she shares with Spanish footballer Gerard Pique, walks off in the background: “Milan tell the truth. Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar.”
While it is not known when the incident took place neither Shakira nor her son are thought to have been injured.
Shakira, aka Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, is currently facing trial for tax fraud.
A Spanish judge ruled in July there was “sufficient evidence” to try her for evading more than £12 million in taxes during the years 2012 and 2014.
The singer is expected to insist she has done nothing wrong if she does not reach a last-minute deal with state prosecutors and has to take the stand.
The saga began in 2019 when Shakira appeared in a Spanish court to testify over allegations that she avoided paying €14.5 in taxes.
She said she was up-to-date with her taxes, had given her full cooperation to the investigation and had no outstanding debts with the tax authorities.
However prosecutors, who accused her of tax evasion in December in 2019, argued that she avoided taxes by claiming to live in the Bahamas when she was resident in Catalonia.
Shakira and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique have been together since 2011 and have two children.
Milan was born in January, 2013, followed by Sasha in January 2015.
The Grammy winner spoke candidly about the difficulties of being a working mum in September 2019.
“Sometimes its very hard when you can not see your sons for a month or even more,” she told Viva magazine at the time.
“It is so hard. But we call each other via FaceTime, so we are in constant communication, that helps.”
Shakira doesn't often share pics of her two sons but did post an adorable snap of the trio as her boys learnt how to surf.
She captioned the post "Guess who I brought to the @wavegarden_official!”
Shakira's 70.3 million fans flocked to the post to share their admiration of the star and her family.
One follower wrote: "They are getting so big,” while another gushed “You’re the best mom ever."
