Pop star Recardo Patrick is opening a self-titled coffee shop and nightclub hybrid in leafy suburb

Pop star Recardo Patrick is opening a lavish new coffee shop and nightclub concept in Hale.

Filled with floor-to-ceiling pink flowers, the luxurious newcomer has taken shape in the old celeb favourite Suburbia.

By day, Recardo's self-titled new site will operate as a floral cafe serving delicate patisserie, coffees and afternoon teas.

But by night, the basement will become a late-night drinking and dancing hotspot, inspired by the iconic Studio 54.

DJs and live performers will play '70s, 80's and 90's classics every Friday and Saturday night.

The basement club has a capacity of only 200 people, with cosy booths, table service and a menu of premium spirits, cocktails and fine wines.

The Sweet Sensation star-turned-hospitality entrepreneur will open the doors to Recardo's on Friday October 22, with a VIP launch party planned for Thursday October 21.

Recardo, who has performed with icons such as Prince, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson in his career, said: "I'm so excited to launch this extra special venue which will be the ultimate late-night dancing destination for the region.

"I wanted Recardo's to be a fun clubbing concept where people come for the experience, not just the headliners, and we will certainly achieve that.

"You won't get anywhere prettier to sit during the day than the upstairs floral cafe, and as the lights go down, Recardo's will really come alive.

"We'll only ever play the best in '70s, 80's and 90's classics filling our dance floor with those who love a good boogie!"

The two-storey venue in the heart of Hale village has undergone an extensive refurbishment.

The ground floor coffee shop will be open seven days a week from 8am, offering coffees, cakes, cocktails and high teas.

There are plans for salsa and jazz events on Thursday evenings in the future.
