Pop star Marilyn 'kicked out of JD Sports for KISSING his boyfriend'

Popstar Marilyn was kicked out of a sports shop with his boyfriend and has accused the manager of homophobia.

The 80s singer claimed after giving Adam Clifford, 39, an innocent kiss and cuddle they were told: “We don’t want that kind of thing in this shop”.

But JD Sports said they were asked to leave over “foul and abusive language” after a row erupted.

Marilyn, who had a 1983 hit Calling Your Name, said: “I have never ever come into contact with that kind of blatant homophobia in my life.”

Marilyn, 56, visiting JD Sports near his Margate home in Kent, said they hugged as they waited for an assistant to bring shoes to try on.

The cross-dressing star, a pal of Boy George, claims the boss said: “Can you stop what you’re doing? You’re making people feel uncomfortable.”

Marilyn said: “All I did was give him a hug and kissed him. What’s that all about? In this day and age.

“I’ve never been confronted with such blatant rudeness… generated with an undercurrent of homophobia.”

But a JD spokesman said after a probe it strongly refuted the claim.

He said: “The customer was only asked to leave the shop after becoming aggressive and using foul and abusive language to a staff member, who felt threatened and intimidated by the actions of the customer.”
