Troubled Scots pop star Finley Quaye threatened to stab a police officer and vowed to “get a grenade” for a bar manager he had vowed to shoot.
Quaye, 45, punched Robert Jenei in the face, attacked a car and snarled racist abuse after playing a gig in London.
The Edinburgh-born musician, who had three top 20 singles in the late 90s and who won a Brit Award, had been playing the Troubadour in September.
Trouble began about 1am after Robert had offered to look for a handbag belonging to a female friend of Quaye but he was unable to find it.

He punched Robert, bruising his left eye, before picking up a bicycle and trying to throw it, then went across the road to kick a car, breaking off a wing mirror.
Prosecutor Malachy Pakenham said: “He was heard saying, ‘When I get out I will f*** you up. Not only will I shoot you, I will get a grenade.’
“When told by the police to stop shouting and swearing, he then said, ‘You f****** n*****.’ When told to stop again, he replied to an officer, ‘I will stab you in the kidney, I will stab you in the windpipe.’”
Quaye then carried on his outburst after he was arrested.
In the police interview at Acton police station the next day, he said he had not eaten properly since arriving at 4pm to rehearse for his show and couldn’t remember very much.
He described the manager as a diamond that he had always had a good relationship with, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.
Quaye, of Earls Court, London, admitted assaulting Robert. The court heard Quaye has 14 previous convictions related to alcohol. He was bailed ahead until October 14.
Quaye was once the golden boy of British music.
His 1997 album Maverick a Strike went double platinum and singles Even after All, Sunday Shining and Your Love Gets Sweeter led to his best male artist award at the 1998 Brits.

His convictions include one of aggravated assault in 2012 and cannabis possession in 2003.
He was also convicted of assault in 2016 after headbutting a terminally ill friend in a row over Game of Thrones.
