It seems there’s a change of tune going on at funerals, with hymns biting the dust in favour of popular songs.
Traditional religious choices have dropped out of the top 10 at services for the first time.
Old favourites such as The Lord’s My Shepherd have given way to modern hits including Ed Sheeran’s Supermarket Flowers, Westlife’s You Raise Me Up and Angels by Robbie Williams.

Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven is in there along with Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust, bringing a bit of poignant humour to services. My Way by Frank Sinatra is still top.
Other songs to lift the spirits in the list, compiled by Co-op from the 100,000 funerals it does each year, include Monty Python’s Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.
The funeral firm’s David Collingwood said: “It may be surprising that hymns are no longer in the top 10.
“People [are] more comfortable in creating a less formal atmosphere at funerals.”
