Pop icon Kim Wilde joins Classic Hits 4FM in new show with 80s classics

Pop icon Kim Wilde said she’s ‘thrilled to be joining Classic Hits 4FM.

It was announced on Wednesday that the 80s pop star is to present her own show on the popular Irish radio station.

‘The Kim Wilde 80’s Show’ will air at 6pm Monday to Thursday from Monday 25th October.

The ‘Kids in America’ songstress will bring listeners through the 80’s on their drive home with some of the biggest chart stopping songs of the decade.

From Madonna to the Human League and Duran Duran to Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and The Pet Shop Boys, the tunes will transport listeners on a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

Commenting on the show, Kim said: “For as long as I can remember, I have always loved music – singing, playing, writing, listening – and I have always loved radio too.

“I am thrilled to be joining Ireland's Classic Hits Radio to present the Kim Wilde 80s Show.”

Kim has enjoyed 19 Top 40 UK hits, achieved an American number one, toured Europe, and presented top-rated TV shows.

Since the start of her career, she has sold over 30 million records spanning 12 albums, and toured alongside legends like Michael Jackson and David Bowie.

Among those 30 million records are some of the most beloved hits of the 80s including, ‘Chequered Love’, ‘Cambodia’, ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’ and ‘Kids in America’.

Kim’s one hour evening show will be a celebration of music’s most iconic era.
