Pop hunk Max George stabbed Olympic legend Dame Kelly Holmes in horror accident

Max George has revealed he accidentally stabbed Dame Kelly Holmes leaving her bleeding profusely around a camp fire in a horror accident on the set of a reality show.

The 32-year-old chart topping star featured on 2015 ITV reality series Bear Grylls: Mission Survive alongside 51-year-old sporting icon Dame Kelly.

During their time together on the show, an un-aired accident took place in which Max stabbed the Olympic icon in the arm while trying to start a fire.

The incident caused a horror scene with blood splattering across the campsite – and Max receiving his packing orders from 46-year-old show host Bear.

Max told the Dangerous Dinners podcast: “I messed up. Technically, I stabbed her with a knife.

“She was trying to make a fire and I said, ‘Give it here.’

“I slashed the knife on the metal and I missed it and it slashed her.

“There was blood everywhere. I stabbed a dame!”

Dame Kelly has since forgiven Max for the accident (PA)

George went on to reveal the incident caused him his place on the show – and he was devastated to let down his small screen hero, Bear.

He explained: “Bear sent me home. And I was a massive fan, I had all his videos.

“I was gutted I messed that up. I was gutted I hurt Dame Kelly, first of all. But then my experience was cut short.

“I was in Costa Rica and that kind of thing is my dream.”

Fortunately for Max, the incident is in the past and all is forgiven in the eyes of Dame Kelly – who sounds like she was more upset over the fact that Max got sent home rather than the injury she sustained.

The two-time Olympic gold medal winning athlete told The Sun on Sunday: “It was a complete accident and I was sad when he went as he was so cute and lit up the camp with his smile.”
