Poorly Will Mellor sparks health concerns with BBC Strictly appearance after he distracts fans with see-through shirt

Will Mellor had Strictly Come Dancing fans worried on Saturday night as he took to the dancefloor again on the BBC dance contest. The Coronation Street star, who has had fans of the BBC dance contest hot under the collar with his 'snake hips' still dazzled with his moves on Saturday night, but viewers were concerned that he wasn't well.

The former Hollyoaks and Two Pints of Lager and Packet of Crisps actor and his professional partner Nancy performed the rumba to The Joker and the Queen by Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. But he admitted that he was under the weather.

In a clip showing them in training screened before their routine Will, 46, said he's been suffering from a 'horrible virus'. But he vowed that the show must go on despite missing days of training, saying: "If in doubt get my hips out."

Will, from Bredbury, said the routine and his hard work with Nancy was a nod to a difficult time in his life, with Nancy representing his wife Michelle McSween and "the family who saved me." @WhoPotterVian took to Twitter to praise: "Remarkable how well Will Mellor did there despite battling the flu. You really couldn't tell he hadn't done much training. He deserves full marks for that."

@carina_price applauded: "Given he was ill this week I think Will did a really good job with this dance." But @englishjen2 exclaimed: "Oh Will looks ill hope he is ok."

After judge Motsi Mabuse referred to his illness as a 'cold' @juliab1963 said: "Will was really poorly Motsi. It was more than a cold." And @corby_tun said: "Will still looks poorly to me."

@blhtrixya said: "Will really doesn’t look himself, hope he’s okay, I know he’s been poorly this week." And @ShirleighShirlz asked: "Should Will really be dancing while he's poorly?"

Sadly Will got his lowest score of the series with 23 out of 40. Other viewers said they were 'distracted' from his dance by his see-through shirt. @UncleBeard1978 tweeted: "Will’s shirt is very distracting." @ElphaBob remarked: "Will Mellor in that see through top."

@ruggerlad exclaimed: "Will in that shirt doing the rumba!" @urbaneprofessor asked: "Can we have more Will Mellor in a semi-transparent mesh shirt please thank you?" and @wattsoccuring joked: "Hi, I’m Will Mellor and these are my nipples."

In an Instagram posted on Friday (October 14) Will spoke with a croaky voice as he explained he went into traning on Monday and had to go home. The star, who plays villain Harvey Gaskell in Corrie, said he had felt "aching all over."

But he added: "I probably sound worse then I am." He said he returned to training on Thursday and only had a "couple of hours" to learn the steps. "I want to do the song justice," he said.
