'Poor purchase' - Southampton fans issue verdict on Nottingham Forest's £15m January 'target'

Che Adams’ future looks to be up in the air at Premier League Southampton, having failed to score a goal since his £15m summer move from Birmingham City.

Adams  started the season as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s first choice front man, but opted to replace him with Danny Ings after his goal drought, a move which has worked wonders for the Saints in their battle against the drop.

And now he has been linked with a summer move to join Nottingham Forest under Sabri Lamouchi as they look to add some firepower to their misfiring attack.

But Southampton fans are not happy with how the youngster has been treated this season.

Adams is without a goal in his 15 outings this term and could be moved out in January as Hasenhuttl looks to bolster their ranks in a bid to secure safety.

Here is what Saints fans have made of him and reports that he could be set to depart St. Mary's this winter:

Qwertyell: He's a trier, but not with much quality. The new Shane Long.

MarkSFC: My gut feeling on Che is that it's been a mental adjustment that has taken time and because he didn't score earlier it knocked his confidence. We (most football fans) are too quick in the main to write players off and I think we would be wrong in this case. I see a mobile, quick and instinctive player who I think given a goal or two and a run of a few games will prove to be a very decent player for us. If I'm right then we will have to descent strikers.

Ally_UK: Lad has potential and will come good.

Greedyfly: He's the best Shane Long impersonator we've ever had.

Pimpin4rizeal: I find this treatment weird.. Why Obafemi even seems to get more time? Also giving only 5 minutes here three minutes there is probably more likely to dent his confidence more?

Hackedoff: As it stands this can only be described as another poor purchase.
