Now you feel our pain, Florida fans.
I so perfectly remember that feeling in my stomach when an opponent faced a 3rd-and-anything against a Todd Grantham-run Georgia defense.
That’s a feeling I wouldn’t wish on anybody…except Florida fans.
How convenient.
On Saturday, Florida fans had that uncomfortable sensation all game when Georgia faced a third down.
Can you blame them? Throughout the evening, Georgia converted on:
3rd and 15
3rd and 11
3rd and 6
3rd and 6 again
3rd and 8
And 3rd and 7 (video below)
The fun part is, that’s just half of the conversions that Jake Fromm and the offense enjoyed. On the day, Georgia was 12/18 on third down, but none bigger than Fromm’s gutsy pass to Eli Wolf to seal the game.
In Grantham’s defense, this was a heck of a play by Fromm on a perfectly run route by Wolf. Fromm stood strong, had the timing of the pass down to a nanosecond and delivered a perfect throw to Wolf.
And it was all against that soft Grantham zone defense. Fromm had all day to throw the ball and was able make some magic happen when the Dawgs needed it the most.
