It's back! After five years Ponty's Big Weekend is bringing the party back to Ynysangharad War Memorial Park in Pontypridd once more with some legends.

We're rounding up all the essential information you need  ahead of the day, including line-up, tickets, possible road closures and anything else.

The gig takes places on Saturday, August 17.

Previous incarnations of Ponty's Big Weekend have included performances from Little Mix, JLS, Olly Murs, Alfie Boe, Paul Potts, The Blackout and Sugababes.

Check back before the gig to get the most up-to-date info before you set off.

Who's playing?

Ocean Colour Scene (Just Looking Images)

Heading the line-up is Ocean Colour Scene whose anthemic tunes The Riverboat Song, The Day We Caught The Train, not least the rest of their album Moseley Shoals, defied the critics to become an iconic sound of the mid-nineties.

The fact is they are excellent musicians who make great rock songs.

They are joined by The Blutones whose song Slight Return & Marblehead Johnson have gone down in legend as a Britpop classic tracks.

(Kilmarnock Standard)

The Bluetones will be playing their hits like Cut Some Rug, Bluetonic, Sleazy Bed Track and the like.

So, if you've been beset with 18-carat-gold regret for not seeing them before, now's your chance.

Also on the bill are Welsh rappers GLC.

Now Newport legends as well as stints as TV-stars and local councillors, there's nothing like seeing the multi-membered - as in the amount of people! - group perform their rap hits like Guns Don't Kill People and Half Man Half Machine, on stage.

Don't panic there are some youngbloods performing too.

Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard from Cardiff have been getting national airplay thanks to their single Double Denim Hop.

It's also been getting traction thanks to being used on Soccer AM.

The Pitchforks (Publicity picture)

Also performing are indie-rock  Rhondda newbies, The Pitchforks who are part of the current BBC Horizons project which nurtures new Welsh artists.

Completing the line-up are Al Moses from Merthyr and Young Garbo , who have a famous fan in former Oasis manager Alan McGee.

What time do things kick off?

Doors open at 3pm on August 17.

The event is likely to finish at 11pm.

We'll have the stage times here too, as soon as we have them.
