Pontus Jansson's admission about his relationship with Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United

The news of Pontus Jansson's departure came as a shock for Leeds United fans - more so because fellow Championship side Brentford were the ones to clinch his signature.

For much of his three years at Elland Road, Jansson - alongside being a fan favourite - was undoubtedly one of the team's best players and earned his place in the Sweden national team for last year's world cup as a result.

Fast forward to this summer and he is out of the door for £5.5 million. There have been reports of a break down in his relationship with Leeds United, and now - as reported in Swedish outlet Aftonbladet - Jansson himself has spoken out about Marcelo Bielsa and their time working together.

"I have always liked to have a close relationship with my trainer", he said.

"As I had with Rolle Nilsson or Rikard Norling for example.

"It has not been as easy with Bielsa and the launguage has been a cause [issue]."

Jansson did have praise though for the Argentinian boss, adding:

"I keep Bielsa high, as one of the absolute best coaches I have had.

"He is special, believes hard on his ideas and I have learned a lot with him as a coach."
