Officials have fined a pub £1,000 for hosting a "party" where people ignored social distancing.
Neath Port Talbot Council and South Wales Police served a fixed penalty notice to the Castle on Pontardawe High Street, following a joint visit on December 4.
According to the council, "a party appeared to be going on with no social distancing" and the authority is considering taking "further action", for example, reviewing the pub’s licence.
The council's cabinet member for community safety and public protection, Councillor Leanne Jones said: “Infection rates are significantly high across Wales and it is imperative licensees comply with the current restrictions.
“The council will be taking a robust and positive approach to enforcing non-compliance particularly when it comes to a minority who are openly and deliberately ignoring restrictions aimed at keeping our communities safe.
“We continue to work with licensed premises to ensure that obligations and responsibilities are being complied with in line with Welsh Government rules”.
Council bosses have issued ten improvement notices to licensed premises for breaching coronavirus guidelines so far.
The Castle Hotel is the second business to be given a fixed penalty notice in the county borough.
According to government guidelines, pub owners must limit customers to groups of up to four (not including children under 11 ) unless they are from a single household. A maximum of four people from different households can sit together in a pub (not including children under 11 or a carer of a member of the group).
