Pollokshields fire: Hunt launched for two men after several cars set ablaze

A hunt has been launched for two men after several cars were set ablaze in Pollokshields.

Officers were called to a report of five parked cars set on fire on Herriet Street and Maxwell Road at around 2.35am on Tuesday August 17.

The fires were extinguished and no one was injured.

Two men were seen at the vehicles and officers are working to identify them. One was wearing dark-coloured clothing and one was wearing a light-coloured hooded top and dark-coloured trousers.

Detective Constable Heather Ferry said: “We believe this was a targeted attack by these two men and I would urge anyone who was in the area early on Tuesday morning, who seen them acting suspiciously, or who has any information or footage regarding this crime to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 quoting 0280 of 17 August. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
