The body of a 16-year-old boy has been recovered from the water at Pollok Park.

A huge emergency service presence including police, fire and rescue and ambulance services raced to the park in Glasgow's south side shortly after 5pm this evening.

Police have now confirmed the body of the teenager was recovered from White Cart Water.

It's understood the youngster fell into the water and police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.10pm on Tuesday, 30 June, 2020, police responded to a report of a concern for a person in the water at Pollok Country Park, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the body of a 16-year-old boy was recovered.

“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
