Pollok Park dog attack sees lurcher puppy set upon as owner issues warning

The owner of a lurcher puppy has issued a warning after her pet dog was viciously attacked in Pollok Park.

Harriet Corcoran was walking rescue pup Archie in the south side park when he was approached by two black labradors. The long-haired lurcher was chased for around 50 metres before he was set upon, leaving a deep wound on his side.

Harriet told Glasgow Live that after the incident, the owner of the two labs made a quick exit without so much as an apology.

Thankfully, Archie is now on the mend, but has been left traumatised following the attack.

Harriet said: "I would just like to give a warning out there to dog walkers, especially those who frequent Pollok Park.

"I was walking my lurcher puppy when two black labs approached him. He likes to play with any dog that's up for chasing him and had a wee sniff around when one of the labs started going for him. He chased him for about 50 metres and I realised it wasn't playful dog behaviour and then they attacked my pup!

"£205 later and a very traumatised pup who has just built his confidence after being rescued from a not so pleasant life and we are back to square one.

"Just keep an eye out for these two dogs and their owner, a middle aged man around 50 - 60, businessman style look, with not much hair. He just walked away very fast muttering something about how his dog was very protective over the other."
