Polling station dubbed 'worst in UK' as thousands cast their votes

Thousands of voters have marched to their local polling station to make sure their voice is heard this election.

Many have flocked to schools, church halls or old buildings to cast their vote but some have squeezed into more unusual locations.

None more so than a temporary polling station in Lacelles Hall, in Huddersfield.

A portable cabin has been erected on the sloped, grassy corner of Lascelles Hall Road and Highfield Lane in the Lascelles Hall area.

It comes complete with a leaning portable toilet, which has drawn even more attention from members of the public, Huddersfield Examiner Live reported.

The structure has led social media users to make crude comments about voters making their mark in the portable toilet, instead of on their ballot paper.

It has led to the polling station being dubbed "one of the worst" used today.

A portable cabin polling station in Aigburth has also been singled out for criticism by some who argue it is inaccessible to frail and disabled voters.
