Polling Place: And the consensus among Bulls fans to the Patrick Williams pick is …

“With the fourth pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls select . . . some guy you think you may have heard of, but you’re not really sure.’’

Ladies and gentlemen, Florida State forward Patrick Williams.

At a muscular 6-8, versatile and only 19, Williams should be of fine use to new Bulls coach Billy Donovan. At least, that’s the big idea for also-new executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas and his crew.

For the rest of us? Well, we always can hope for the best.

In this week’s ‘‘Polling Place’’ — your weekly home for Sun-Times sports polls on Twitter — we asked respondents about their reactions to the pick.

‘‘Is this pick the Mitch Trubisky of the Bulls?’’ @JBIRD1268 asked.

Come on, man. On to the polls:

Poll No. 1: In a word, what’s your reaction to the Bulls’ selection of Florida State forward Patrick Williams with the No. 4 pick in the draft?

It’s time for our weekly @suntimes "Polling Place" questions. Let us hear from you! Selected comments will appear in Saturday's paper. ⚾️

Q1: In a word, what’s your reaction to the Bulls’ selection of Florida State forward Patrick Williams with the No. 4 pick in the draft?

— Chicago Sun-Times (@Suntimes) November 19, 2020

Upshot: If John Paxson and Gar Forman would’ve put their heads together and come up with this surprise, they would’ve gotten instantly crushed. But we trust Karnisovas, don’t we? Hmm. For now. Let’s see how long that lasts.

Poll No. 2: The Bears, their offense in shambles, have lost four straight to fall to 5-5. With six games to go, how many more wins do they have in them?

Q2: The Bears, their offense in shambles, have lost four straight to fall to 5-5. With six games to go, how many more wins do they have in them?

— Chicago Sun-Times (@Suntimes) November 19, 2020

Upshot: “The players are gonna rally around their HC, so all of them are winnable,” @YosiahTheHebrew wrote. “HC” means head coach Matt Nagy, for those of you who weren’t sure. “Winnable,” on the other hand, is very open to interpretation.

Poll No. 3: The Cubs are in transition. Was their run under Theo Epstein good enough?

Q3: The Cubs are in transition. Was their run under Theo Epstein good enough?

— Chicago Sun-Times (@Suntimes) November 19, 2020

Upshot: You might’ve forgotten, but the Cubs actually won a World Series, supposedly ending some sort of curse or another, on Epstein’s watch. That’s all the evidence most respondents needed to weigh. Commented @NCarusoJr: “Of course, 100%, unequivocally, to infinity and beyond.”
