Polling day weather forecast: When to vote in the General Election and avoid getting soaked

Bristolians set to vote in the General Election tomorrow (December 12) are likely to get wet on the way to the polling station.

But there are certain times at which you are likely to be less drenched than others - and to help you decide the best time to vote, here is our summary of the Met Office's polling day weather predictions.

The forecaster expects light rain in Bristol from 7am until 9am, at which point the downpours are set to become heavier.

This will ease off at 11am, though consistent rainfall over the following hours is still likely.

Torrential rain is predicted to resume from 2pm, continuing until 8pm, with light showers expected through the rest of the night.

Temperatures are set to peak at 9C between 12pm and 7pm.

How to vote in a General Election

Polls open at 7am and must close at 10pm, though the Electoral Commission says any eligible voters who at 10pm are in a queue inside or outside the polling place must be allowed to vote.
