The Chicago Bears are sitting ugly at 3-3 with the toughest part of their schedule on the horizon. And yet, there’s a chance that they could beat the Los Angeles Chargers, who are equally struggling this season, at home in Week 8.
Chicago’s offense is in a tailspin, threatening to crash and burn at any second. Mitch Trubisky doesn’t look he’s the future at quarterback for the Bears, the run game has been M.I.A. dating back to last season and nothing aside from receiver Allen Robinson is working on offense.
Not to mention the Bears’ defense hasn’t looked like itself since a statement win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. They’ve allowed back-to-back 100-yard rushers, and they’re about to face Melvin Gordon on Sunday.
But then there are the Chargers, who at 2-5 are finding new ways to lose. The Chargers had two touchdowns overturned by replay with under 45 seconds left and proceeded to come one yard short of victory in a 23-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
Is it possible that the Bears take advantage of a struggling Chargers team? Or will it be more of the same from a mediocre offense and gassed defense?
