After firing Nathaniel Hackett in December, the Denver Broncosâ ownership group is now leading a search for the teamâs next head coach.
At the time of this writing, Denver has eight known candidates for the job: Michigan HCÂ Jim Harbaugh, ex-Saints HC Sean Payton, Broncos DC Ejiro Evero, Cowboys DC Dan Quinn, Rams DC Raheem Morris, 49ers DC DeMeco Ryans, ex-NFL HC Jim Caldwell and ex-Stanford HC David Shaw.
Denver has already completed a virtual interview with Harbaugh and in-person interviews with Evero, Caldwell and Shaw. The team has scheduled in-person interviews with Payton, Ryans, Quinn and Morris for next week.
Harbaugh and Payton are the most notable names on the list of candidates, and itâs no surprise that they are popular picks for Broncos fans. They are not the only strong candidates, though, and many fans do not want to trade a draft pick in order to hire Payton.
