POLL: Which XFL team will Chiefs fans root for?

The XFL has officially announced the franchise names for their eight football teams. None of the names are callbacks to the league’s original incarnation.

The 10-week debut season for the XFL is still a while away, set to premiere in February of 2020. Now, fans of the upcoming league can choose their team allegiances. Here’s a look at the club nicknames and their accompanied city:

  • D.C. Defenders
  • Dallas Renegades
  • Houston Roughnecks
  • Los Angeles Wildcats
  • New York Guardians
  • St. Louis BattleHawks
  • Seattle Dragons
  • Tampa Bay Vipers

So, Chiefs Kingdom, how will you be choosing your allegiances for an XFL franchise? The XFL has their player draft coming in October, so you won’t be able to choose based on player-related allegiances right now. Will fans flock to the St. Louis BattleHawks, now that the NFL has left the city of St. Louis? Will you choose based on the head coach of the team?
