Poll: Should the Lions attempt to sign Colin Kaepernick?

The Detroit Lions are one of the teams confirmed to attend Saturday’s scheduled workout in Atlanta with quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The former San Francisco 49ers starter is attempting to get back into the NFL and will throw on the field as well as take team interviews during the NFL-arranged exhibition.

Detroit is one of the teams prominently mentioned with Kaepernick. That could be because starting QB Matthew Stafford is sidelined with broken bones in his back and fan confidence in backup Jeff Driskel remains low.

Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since 2016, when he accrued a record of 1-10 as a starter while also spearheading the movement to kneel during the pregame playing of the national anthem. In 2012 and 2013, he led the 49ers to two straight NFC Championship games, winning one, as a dual-threat gunslinger with an outstanding arm and great rushing ability.
