Poll: Should the Jags still take Dwayne Haskins if he’s available for the No. 7 pick

With the Jacksonville Jaguars acquiring quarterback Nick Foles, many mock drafts have them passing on a signal-caller in the top-3 rounds and adding offensive weapons for the veteran quarterback instead. However, despite having an answer at quarterback for the short-term, there seems to be a growing speculation that Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins could be available at the No. 7 pick, which could give the Jags a long-term answer to take the reigns after Foles.

A recent report by ESPN’s Dianna Russini has particularly made Jags fans think about the possibility after she revealed that she had been told that the New York Giants haven’t been heavily scouting Haskins and have no intent of taking the young quarterback if available.

“About a week after the Combine, I circled back with some [Giants] people like, ‘What are you thinking about Haskins? Do you guys like him? Do you think you are going for it with your No. 6 pick?’” Russini said on ESPN’s Breaking Big Blue Podcast last Thursday. “It was, ‘No, actually. We are not doing a lot of work on him.”

Well, talk about some rather interesting comments. Ultimately, time will tell if Russini’s statements hold any water, but it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibilities that the Giants could pass on Haskins. That may especially be the case if they like Daniel Jones more who has been tutored by the Mannings coming up.

As for the Jags, I believe they like Haskins a ton, but may elect to get Foles a weapon like Iowa tight end T.J. Hockenson, or some help on the offensive line. Still, being that Haskins is the prototypical Tom Coughlin quarterback, fans of the team definitely shouldn’t rule him becoming a Jag out.

Now we’d like to hear from you all o the matter. Should the Jags still draft Haskins if he fell to them? Let us know via social media and in the poll below.
