Poll Results: Most believe Chargers should trade RB Melvin Gordon

In Friday’s poll, we sought to figure out how most fans felt about the situation regarding Chargers running back Melvin Gordon and what his future should look like.

From the results, it appears that many believe Gordon should be on a new team with slightly less than 50 percent of voters choosing that Los Angeles should simply trade the Pro Bowl running back.

Nearly 28 percent of voters think that the team should pay Gordon, while 22 percent believe that he should sit out for the entire season and find a new club after the 2019 campaign.

It’s evident that most people believe the Bolts can manage without their 2015 first-round selection. But the majority of the bunch feel as though they should receive some compensation for him.

We laid out four potential trade partners for the Chargers if they were to go down that route. Even though Gordon’s agent stated that they would demand a trade if he doesn’t receive a reasonable contract, it’s uncertain whether general manager Tom Telesco would choose to do so.

Telesco hasn’t been known to be aggressive when it comes to transactions. We feel that he would let the former Wisconsin product sit the entire 2019 season before sending him to another team.

Given Gordon’s resume, the team would likely receive a hefty haul for him if he were to be traded. Based on social media, many fans would like a premiere offensive tackle and some draft picks or a couple high draft selections.
