Poll results - Guardian Edinburgh readers want to save listed Leith building

As we reported before the election, local members of most political parties were speaking out on the doorsteps against plans for a biomass plant in Leith.

Integral to the plan is a planning application to demolish the Leith Docks grain silo - a B-listed building.

We ran a poll at the start of the week asking people whether they considered the building an eyesore or a landmark.

There were 87 votes. 20.7% of people said the building should be demolished to make way for the biomass energy plant.

The rest, 79.3% of people who voted, want the building to be saved.

You can read Forth Ports' case for demolition here, and its case for the biomass plant here.

Thanks to those who voted!
