Poll hijack sees Rangers star Ryan Jack picked in Aberdeen team of the decade

Rangers fans have used their strength in numbers to propel Ibrox favourite Ryan Jack to the top of a North East newspaper's list of the best Pittodrie midfielders of the decade.

The Aberdeen Evening Express have been running a supporters’ poll to find what locals reckon is their finest team of the past 10 years.

But mischievous Rangers fans have decided to have a little fun at the expense of their northern rivals and vote for their player - a contentious figure and one regularly booed by Aberdeen supporters since he departed Derek McInnes ' side in 2017 to sign for Pedro Caixinha .

As it currently stands, Jack is certain to make the team by racking up more than 80 per cent of the total voting.

The closest player in the voting also has Ibrox connections.

Gavin Rae has nearly eight per cent of ballots having played for the Glasgow club from 2004-2007.

Jack has become a key figure in the Rangers team this season and one of the most popular players with the fans due to his wholehearted displays in central midfield.

He recently signed a contract extension keeping him at Ibrox until 2023.
