POLL: Does Joe Flacco make the Broncos a better team?

There will be at least one new starting quarterback in the AFC West in 2019.

News broke on Wednesday that the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos have agreed to a trade that will send quarterback Joe Flacco to Denver. It’s similar to the Alex Smith trade last season in that it cannot be consummated until the new league year begins in March.

There was little question that Broncos needed to get better at the quarterback position to improve their standings in the AFC West. Is Flacco actually the answer to the quarterback problems for the Broncos? At first glance it doesn’t look like it.

Over the last two seasons Flacco has been worse than current Broncos starter, Case Keenum, in every statistical category. It doesn’t look much better for Flacco when you go back through all of his seasons and compare him to the league average either. He has been painfully mediocre throughout his career.

Flacco has a Super Bowl win nearly a decade ago, and with the right supporting cast, the Broncos believe he could repeat. At the same time, with no dead money attached to his contract, they could dump him just as quickly as they’ve traded for him.

What do you think Chiefs Kingdom? Does our new divisional rival Joe Flacco make the Broncos a better team? Will he be an interim solution for their quarterback woes? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter and Facebook. Be sure to vote in the poll at the top of the page.
