POLL: Does Donnie Shell finally make the Hall of Fame in 2020?

On Saturday night, the 2019 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame was recognized. There were no former Pittsburgh Steelers on the card but this franchise has a significant list of players who have gotten close and one coming next year who might just be a lock. But removing guys like guard Alan Faneca, wide receiver Hines Ward and safety Troy Polamalu, there’s no player who deserves his shot more than former Steeler defensive back Donnie Shell.

The Hall of Fame has chosen to expand the 2020 class to a full 20 members, which should help Shell’s case. But will he finally get in? This is the question we’ve put to all of you.

Shell is one of the best undrafted players of all time. He played for the Steelers from 1974-1979 and in only six seasons made the Pro Bowl five times and was named an All-Pro three. Shell also has 51 career interceptions, which is third-best in franchise history. Shell was also part of all four Steelers Super Bowls of the 1970s.
