Political party accidentally live streams conference with CAT FILTERS on faces

Politicians were left kitten themselves after they were filmed with CAT FILTERS on their faces for an entire press conference.

Cricketer Imran Khan's political party was laughed at as the session was live-streamed with the Snapchat-style emojis.

The embarrassing gaffe saw the officials working for Prime Minister Imran Khan completing their announcement unaware of how they looked.

Regional minister Shaukat Yousafzai had been speaking with journalists when a member of the government's social media team activated the filter on Facebook .

The video was posted on the official Facebook page of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, which is in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

It was deleted minutes after the press conference

Mr Yousafzai told AFP: "The cat filter was turned on by mistake. Let's not take everything so seriously.

"I wasn't the only one, two officials sitting along me were also hit by the cat filter," he joked.

A statement released on Twitter by PTI blamed human error and added that precautions had been taken to avoid a repeat perfromance.

It read: "PTI's social media team is deemed to be the pioneers of social media in Pakistan.

"We not only pride ourselves in bringing Pakistani politics to internet but also feel content in setting high standards."

It added that a disciplinary committee probed the matter and found it to be human error by a "hard working volunteer".
