Polish woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann could be 'missing daughter' of family in US

A family in the US have allegedly contacted the Polish woman who is claiming to be Madeleine McCann claiming that the 21-year-old may actually be their missing daughter.

Julia Wendell, 21, who maintains she is the missing British girl that disappeared in Portugal in 2007, has been appearing on private investigator and self-professed medium Dr Fia Johansson’s Instagram account to share updates on her claim after her own accounts were either removed or deleted.

She sparked a storm across the internet recently after she shared what she said was evidence to suggest she might be Madeleine, the Leicestershire girl who went missing during a family holiday to Portugal in 2007 aged three.

Currently, Julia is in a safe house in California with Dr Johansson due to having received death threats where the pair are looking into Julia’s claims.

Dr Johansson, who has regularly been posting updates, has alleged she holds evidence that “shows Julia was definitely trafficked to Poland" and that she is not her parents' biological daughter.

To corroborate this, they have also reportedly sent samples of Julia's DNA for analysis. Julia has also completed a genetic test to establish her ancestry.

In an interview with the publication RadarOnline, Dr Johansson has claimed that an American family who have been searching for their missing daughter have made contact with Julia as they believe it may be her.

The private investigator told the publication: "We do not want to reveal the name of the girl or her family because things are going back and forth, and it’s a very emotional time for everyone. I feel we should wait until we get the DNA test because we want to know more about Julia’s background.

"Right now, there are a lot of families with missing children, similar to Julia’s age, that are going to be emailing us because they would love to know where their missing loved ones are."
