The Liverpool European Festival will showcase Poland's longstanding and similar history with Liverpool and its people.
Bringing together different European communities in the city including Irish, Nordic, Greek, Italian, German, Austrian, Polish, Romanian, French, Albanian, Spanish, Ukrainian, Swiss and Roma, the festival is a celebration of dance, film and heritage.
Liverpool's Polish community will play a key role in the festival by offering unique cultural experiences to those who want to discover more about the city's past. The Polish Heritage Tour showcases the shared history of the two cultures and how their people have much more in common than you might expect.

The Famous Poles Exhibition explores those with a key part in the country's history, culture and heritage, and their impact from around the world to Liverpool.
The manager of Merseyside Polonia, Dagmara Wojciechowicz, hopes the festival showcases similarities between the two communities and brings them closer together.
Dagmara told the Echo: "People think our cultures are very different but they're not. They don't understand how many things we actually have in common, and how intertwined our histories are. The Liverpool heritage tour is an idea that will bring people together and different people that wouldn't usually be your expected guests.
"These are people who just are a little bit curious and want to know more and very often they're surprised because they didn't expect us to have such a rich connection with Liverpool.
"For us, it's an opportunity to promote our culture, but also to show people who are local to Liverpool that we have so much in common. I think people forget because it's a very diverse city, mostly associated with Irish and African communities that we're here as well.
She added: "We're one of the first settlers who came in the late 1800s so we have a long history and we're excited to show it off."
The Polish Heritage Tour and Famous Poles Exhibition take place on June 3.
